No physiotherapy after surgery……

Replacement surgery without vigorous post-op physio sessions …

Knee is the most common joint to be addressed with degeneration…after the the due course of degeneration knee replacement becomes the only absolute management..
Total Knee Replacement is the effective option still requires vigorous physiotherapy sessions postoperatively..reason behind this is ,total knee replacement surgery includes not only removal of bony parts but complete removal of the surrounding structures of the knee (including ligaments) which makes patient difficult to regain complete movement without proper physiotherapy treatment .it requires nearly 20-30 days of rehabilitation period of vigorous physiotherapy.
On the contrary…in unicondylar knee replacement or microplasty surgery only degenerated part is being removed, rest all the structures are conserved (including ligaments).which makes patient, easy to perform all the movements from the second day postoperatively, which includes all knee movement along with walking…. 3rd day onwards patient starts using comod and performs all daily routine functions on his own…the 12th day ,after stitch removal patient walks on his own without any external rehabilitation protocol……along with this,in unicondylar knee replacement very small incision approach is used which is evermore helpful for patients to perform all functional movement easily…
